I'm going to try and go to the show at MIT on the 25th.   I've been looking EVERYWHERE for ticket info, and I can't seem to find it!  Argh, very frustrating.

Hi guys,

If anyone's interested, I put up a post a while ago about Howie's recent show in Brisbane. The post became even more interesting thanks to some comments from readers with videos of Howie's Australian shows... so there's a couple to watch :) And also, there's a recording of Howie performing new song "No Longer What You Require" with lyrics (which I'm sure need improving :P)

Hope someone here finds it interesting!

You can read the post here: http://www.burgoblog.com/2008/11/28/howie-day-live-at-the-troubadour-in-brisbane/

(ps sorry i added to this thread instead of starting a new one, but the forum seemed kinda buggy?)

Tim, a b&p stands for blanks and postage.

Basically, you mail someone a couple blank cds/dvd's as well as enough postage for them to mail you back your blanks with a live show on it.

I miss the old ftp days.

I posted the set lists from the 3.12 show in Davenport, IA and the 3.14 show in Milwaukee, WI but the site doesn't let me post new threads, I guess... 'cause they're not showing!

Thanks Kat for putting up the Milwaukee setlist, I was looking around for it. I snagged the setlist at Lakeshore Theater in CHI on Saturday.

  • Sorry
  • Brace
  • She Says
  • Ghost
  • Sunday
  • No Long Require
  • Dream
  • After You
  • 123
  • Disco
  • Bunnies
  • Perfect
  • Numbness
  • Collide

  • Morning After
  • Madrigals

Both milwaukee and chicago shows were great. I have to say Nick Zuber played a lot better in Milwaukee than he did in CHI...but he said he was fighting a cold so that could have had something to do with it. Howie seemed more excited at the CHI show, which made for a better performance. Both were awesome, he's a guitar god plain and simple. Hope he keeps touring.

That's interesting, Drew! I see he was set to play Perfect Time of Day but didn't.  Here's the full set list that he actually played.

1. Sorry, So Sorry
2. Brace Yourself
3. She Says
4. Ghost > Beams of Light
5. Sunday Morning Song
6. No Longer What You Require
7. Don't Dream It's Over
8. After You
9. Counting on Me (That amuses me that on the set list it's noted as "123".)
10. Disco
11. Bunnies
12. Numbness for Sound
13. Collide
14. Morning After (encore)
15. Madrigals (encore)

FYI, Howie's show at Blueberry Hill in St. Louis that was scheduled for tonight (March 24) has been postponed to Friday, May 1.  Check this tiny place out if you are looking to see him in a very intimate venue.  It is owner by Chuck Berry and every time I see someone at this venue I feel like I got really lucky to see an artist in such a small, eclectic place.  Tickets are still available if anyone is interested!

TO KAT - I new something wasn't right when I read the setlist. I will admit I was slightly intoxicated, but I always keep myself pretty clear-headed so I can enjoy everything. But yeah, I love Bunnies, because I am a guitar player and love his effects during that song so I remember it really clearly...and I could have sworn Perfect Time was not played after Bunnies. Thanks for putting up an accurate list.

Also...Curious...Anyone know what the deal is with the Jason Mraz w/ Howie as a special guest? Is it a split bill? Assembly Hall is huge(compared to the places HD has played thist) and its pretty much almost sold. I didn't realize Jason Mraz was that big. Anyway, the Rave and Lakeshore just aren't enough for me, I want to see him again....but Im pretty indifferent about Jason Mraz. Anyone have specifics regarding the setup for the show? Couldn't really find a straight answer online.

Drew: Yeah, there were a lot of intoxicated people at the Lakeshore show!  The side of the theater to stage left was ROWDY.

Kat - Yeah...I very close on the stage left side of the middle section(looks like you were quite close as well, based on your pics)....I felt pretty bad for Howie during the encore. There was this group of younger, very drunk people standing up against the stage on that side...all through morning after and madrigals they continuously pounded on the stage and screamed for "Africa"...the entire encore!... I understand people yelling requests out during song breaks(although im not a big fan of it, actually I hate it, but its inevitable) .... but in the middle of a song? It pissed me off so much...and you could literally see Howie cringe everytime the girl yelled...he was visibley pissed off, especially during Madrigals. It looked like he was just thinking "why do I bother with this." Kind of bummed me out....still an awesome show...but those folks definitley made the encore less enjoyable for me....and for Howie too.

There was one girl screaming, "I LOVE YOU!" over and over... she just about drove me crazy.  I think she was in the middle somewhere.

I was WAY to stage right, in the 6th row of seats.  Not bad seats at all!

i know exactly what you guys are talking about. i was fortunate to catch the show, seated front row, center. so, i saw exactly where the select group of screamers were placed. they happened to make their way to the middle of the stage during the encore.

the one chick talked to my gf in the line for the bathroom at intermission. apparently, she got a little down when my gf brought up the whole britney spears topic. later on that night, the same girl happened to elbow me pretty hard. that's when i noticed she lost all control and feeling of her limbs.

on a positive note, i've got some cool pics, a great video, and nice memories of the concert. if howie's voice was hurting at all that night, i couldn't tell. great performance!

oh, and colbie caillat or jason mraz should be opening for howie, not the other way around. he's going to make her look bad. (that's just my opinion). :P
